The Sahabi - Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari seeks Barakah from the Grave of Rasul-Allah ~sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam~!

Sayyiduna Dawud bin Salih says: " Marwan one day saw a man placing his face on top of the grave of the Prophet. He said: "Do you know what you are doing?" When he came near him, he realized it was Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari. The latter said: "Yes; I came to the Prophet, not to a stone. I heard the Prophet say:

“Do not weep on religion if its people assume its leadership, but weep on it if other than its people assume it.”

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal narrates it in ‘Musnad Ahmad (5:422)’, Imam Hakim Nayshapuri in ‘Mustadrak (4:515)’ and grades it as ‘Sahih’; Imam Dhahabi also considers it so in his notes on ‘Mustadrak al Hakim’. The grand Muhaddith Imam Taqiuddin Subki mentions it in ‘Shifa' us Siqam (p. 126)’. Imam Ibn Hajr Haythami records it in ‘Majmu az Zawaid (4:2)’ and the Khariji Mujassimi Shaykh Ibn Taymiyya in ‘Al-Muntaqa (2:261)!
