Hadiths on the Intercession or 'Shafa'at' of the Ahl al Bayt!

(i) Imam Sayyid Muhammad Amin Ibn Abidin Shami says that Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Imam Bayhaqi and Imam Hakim have narrated with an Authentic Chain {‘Sahih Sanad’} from Sayyiduna Abu Saeed that the Beloved Rasul Allah said standing on the pulpit {‘Mimbar’}: “What kind of people are those who say that the Prophet of Allah can not even help his relatives on the Day of Judgement. Remember! I will benefit them both in this world {‘Dunya’} and the world Here-after {‘Akhirah’}.”{Rasail Ibn Abidin Shami, 1:5, Suhayl Academy}

(ii) Imam Shami states that Imam Tibrani in his ‘Mu’jam’ narrates through an Authentic Chain {‘Sahih Sanad’} from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas that the Beloved RasulAllah said to Sayyidah Fatima: “Allah Almighty will not punish you or your progeny.” {Rasail Ibn Abidin Shami, 1:5, Suhayl Academy}

(iii) Imam Shami further mentions that Imam Tibrani, Imam Darqutni and the compiler of ‘Kitab ul Firdous’ Imam Dailmi> narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar that the Beloved RasulAllah said: “I will Intercede first for my Ahl al Bayt on the Day of Judgment, then for those who were near them, then for the Ansar …….” {Rasail Ibn Abidin Shami, 1:5, Suhayl Academy}

It is not only the ‘Ahl al Bayt’ who will receive Intercession but also those who profusely love them as mentioned in the Hadith as follows.

(iv) Sayyiduna Ali bin Abu Talib narrated that the Beloved RasulAllah said: “My Intercession will be for that follower {‘Ummati’} of mine who loves my Ahl al Bayt.” {Kanz al Ummal; V: 14; H# 39057}

Subhan-Allah! Such is the lofty status of 'Ahl al Bayt' of the Beloved RasulAllah!

The Wahhabiya-Salafiya-Deobandiya-Jamat al Islamiya were the first to deny the Intercession or Shafa'at of the Beloved RasulAllah in 'Taqwiyat al Iman', their scholars still deny some types of 'Shafa'at even today. Apart from this, they also deny the status of 'Ahl al Bayt' due to their 'Nasab' (Genealogy). Their astray-ness on this topic was dealt and refuted by Imam Ahl us Sunnah Allama Mufti Fazl al Rasul Badayuni in 'Fawz al Mu'minin bi Shafa'at ish Shafayin', Imam al Mantiq Allama Fazl al Haqq Khayrabadi in 'Tahqiq al Fatawa' and the Mujaddid Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Quadri Bareilvi in 'Assama’ al Arbayin fi Shafa’ati Sayyid al Mursalin’ in which he collected 40 Hadiths on the topic. This monologue is present in ‘Al Ataya al Nabviya fi Fatawa al Razviya’, V: 29, Raza Foundation.
